CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS
This vehicle is equipped with a warm-up system. The warm-up system is a system
that automatically increases the idling speed to warm the engine and improve
heater operation when the engine is started in cold weather (outside temperature of
approximately 5°C (41°F) or below). When the warm-up system is operated, the engine
idle speed will increase to approximately 1,400 r/min. This does not indicate a failure.
The warm-up system will automatically turn off when the outside air temperature
increases (to approximately 10°C (50°F)) or when the engine is warmed. Also, the
warm-up system will stop if any of the following occur during its operation.
• The brake pedal is depressed
• The clutch pedal is depressed (manual transmission models)
• The gearshift lever is placed in any position other than "N" (manual transmission
models)
• The selector lever is placed in any position other than "P" or "N" (automatic
transmission models)
Warm-up System
NOTE
• The engine idling speed is slowly decreased when the warm-up system is
stopped by the operation of the brake pedal or clutch pedal.
• The engine idling speed is immediately decreased when the warm-up system is
stopped by the operation of the gearshift lever or selector lever.
