4.3 Communicating in DSC (Digital Selective Call) Mode
Select a telephone number and
press
ENTER
.
CALL CH is highlighted and the default (CH70) is
displayed.
TIP
• The CALL CH can be set to a channel other
than CH70 (such as CH01 – CH28, CH60 –
CH88, except for CH75 and 76). However,
doing so is not advisable because DSC
watchkeeping is maintained only for CH70.
• END OF SEQUENCE is fixed as ACK RQ and
cannot be changed.
• When the desired telephone number is not
displayed, enter it using the number keys and
press
ENTER
.
• If a call channel other than CH70 is selected,
press
ENTER
to confirm the selection.
Press
CALL
.
• The AUTO/ SEMI-AUTO TEL CALL Display
appears and the message is transmitted.
• When the message has been transmitted,
TRANSMITTED appears.
TIP
• If the message is not acknowledged by the
coastal station, the display remains.
• If the message is not acknowledged by the
coastal station, press
CALL
again to transmit
the message.
• Press
STOP
to stop the alarm.
