q LCD Display
w DISTRESS & URGENCY LED :
Lights up when a distress/urgent call is
received.
e OTHERS LED :
Lights up when a call of a category other
than distress or urgent is received.

CH70
key :
Selects CH70 for one-touch access for DSC
mode.

DISTRESS
switch :
Transmits distress messages. Never press
this switch except in an emergency.

STOP
key :
Stops DSC call transmission and alarms.
Stops scanning when in the scan mode.
Is also used to return to the pervious dis-
play.

DISABLE
key :
Disables audible alarms when receiving
general calls (those other than distress or
urgency). This key is active when the CH70
Status Display is on the screen.

COUNTRY
key :
Selects the region (ITU, USA or CANADA).

key :
Displays the memory channel menu.

Displays the weather channel menu.

Move the cursor left or right to select items.
Open /close windows.
Also used to display the contents of received
messages.
These keys have an automatic repeat
function which activates after the key has

key :
Prints out the contents of a DSC message,
private channel, memory channel, or the
DSC SETUP CONFIRMATION Display.

Displays the DSC Menu.

key :
Confirms input.

CALL
key :
Transmits a DSC message when the DSC
message display appears.

VOL
control :
Adjusts the volume of the speaker when the
speaker is ON.

SQL
control :
Controls the squelch threshold.

CLR
key :
Used to clear entered values (when a
mistake has been made) and closes win-
dows.

OFF
key :

held down, turns OFF the main
unit or controller in use.

SCAN
key :
Displays the scan menu.

POWER
key :
Turns the power ON. Used with
OFF
to turn
OFF the main unit or controller in use.

Adjusts the backlight for the LCD and keys
in 12 steps of brightness.
