Chapter 7 Learn Geode Connect for Android 91
Owner's Manual
Correction Source
This specifies whether the
Geode should automatically
choose its correction source
or accept only SBAS, NTRIP,
or Atlas corrections. When
the correction source is
set to Auto, the Geode
is programed to choose
a source according to
accuracy level in the order
of NTRIP, Atlas, then SBAS.
When available, NTRIP is
the Geode’s most accurate
correction source, and
therefore, it is first choice. If
the Geode loses its NTRIP
connection, it will try to
reconnect.
If it fails to reconnect (usually after about two minutes), it
will default to the next available correction.
Note: If this happens in the middle of collecting data, it may
create significant error between positions because different
correction sources use different reference datum.
Manually selecting a single correction source overrides the
Geode’s default settings. If NTRIP is selected, the Geode will
use NTRIP, but if it loses the NTRIP signal, it will default to an
autonomous (uncorrected) solution.
If the Geode is accepting SBAS corrections, and it loses its
signal, it will always default to an autonomous solution.
If Atlas is selected, the Geode will use Atlas correction, and if
it loses the signal it will default to an autonomous solution.
When the Geode is configured to use an NTRIP service,
Geode Connect does not automatically select NTRIP as the
only correction source. When using NTRIP, the best practice
is to manually select NTRIP as the only correction source.
