Required tools and parts:
•
DC power source cables (12–14 AWG) with ring lug (Molex 190700067 or equivalent)
(not provided)
•
Phillips (+) screwdriver, number 1
Before you begin:
•
Ensure that you have taken the necessary precautions to prevent ESD damage.
•
Ensure that you have connected the device chassis to earth ground.
CAUTION: Before you connect power to the services gateway, a licensed
electrician must attach a cable lug to the grounding and power cables that
you use. A cable with an incorrectly attached lug can damage the device (for
example, by causing a short circuit).
To meet safety and electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements and
to ensure proper operation, you must connect the SRX240 Services Gateway
to ground before you connect it to power.
You connect DC source power to the device by attaching power cables from the external
DC power sources to the terminal studs on the DC power feed faceplates.
To connect the DC source power to the device:
1. Ensure that the input circuit breaker is open so that the voltage across the DC power
source cable leads is 0 V and that the cable leads will not become active while you
are connecting DC power.
NOTE: The DC power feed in SRX240 Services Gateway DC power supply
model has four terminals labeled A+, B+, A–, and B– for connecting DC
power source cables labeled positive (+) and negative (–). The DC power
feed section on the SRX240 Services Gateway with DC power supply
model is shipped with jumpers from the A+ input to B+ input tied together
and links (jumpers) from the A– input to B– input tied together.
2. Remove the screw securing the terminal block cover using the Phillips (+) screwdriver,
number 1 and remove the terminal block cover as shown in Figure 16 on page 72. Save
the screw.
