What version of Software am I running on Stencil 2?
Stencil 2 runs Ubuntu 16.04. IMPORTANT: Do not update Ubuntu or the ROS packages on your
Stencil 2 as it will break the mapping system.
All Stencils shipped prior to July 2018 are running Ubuntu 14.04 unless their software has been
updated. For Stencils running Ubuntu 16.04, you can determine the software revision by typing
stencil_about in the console window.
Added image saving feature, IPAD, GPS monitor, easier GNSS
integration, changing Velodyne ethernet IP, and other minor
improvements
Added camera auto exposure for feature tracking and image
saving modes, improved confidence metrics and visual
odometry estimates, better GPS tools in loop closure, and an
ability to localize into a geo-referenced map.
Performance improvements, smaller files, Adaptive Data Replay,
better GNSS loop closure, Localization Lock Confidence value,
separate parameters for scanning and playback modes.
Bug fixes. Added Floor Planner dialog box. Works with VLP-32C.
Major performance improvements more command line tools,
much improved Loop Closure Tool, greatly enhanced Adaptive
Data Replay with more parameters for dealing with difficult data
sets. Bug fixes
