7 Service
7.1 Replacing batteries
Whilst the battery is being changed, all the data (access authorisations, configura-
tions and traceback) is retained in the battery-independent memory. The clock set-
tings are lost after 45 seconds.
With some components with particular handle styles, it is not possible to remove the
inside shield completely. When using these handle styles, the inside shield must be
withdrawn as far as possible and rotated 90°.
Requirement:
• New battery available.
Procedure:
1. Remove the screw M3 (13) on the bottom of the in-
side shield (2).
2. Insert the screwdriver into the countersink on the in-
side shield and remove the inside shield.
3. Remove the spent batteries (10).

Note: observe the battery polarity. Failure to do
so could destroy the electronics.
Insert the new batteries.
Slip the battery protection film (8) between the bat-
teries as shown.
6. Mount the inside shield.
