4.5.3 Option W2/W3
Heat recovery
The cooling oil circuit includes 2 valves regulating the cooling oil temperature:
■ Thermostatic valve, machine
■ Thermostatic valve, heat recovery
The thermostatic valves ensure that the cooling oil is kept at the ideal temperature for machine op‐
eration.
The thermostatic valve of the heat recovery opens first so that surplus heat is released into the
heat recovery system. If the heat recovery system cannot carry away enough heat, the thermostat‐
ic valve of the machine opens to allow hot oil through the oil cooler circuit.
Condition:
Opening temperature machine thermostatic valve = Opening temperature heat recovery ther‐
mostatic valve
The heat available for recovery depends on the individual operating conditions of the machine.
A plate-type heat exchanger is installed for heat recovery.
The plate-type heat exchanger transfers heat from the cooling oil to a heat-receiving medium.
