Up/down needle position button
Spool
* Raise the thread take-up lever to its highest position.
Press up/down needle position button _ twice to raise
the needle.
* Raise the presser foot lifter.
* Place a spool on the spool pin, with the thread coming
off as shown.
Draw the end of the thread around the upper thread guide.
While holding the thread near the spool _, draw the end
of the thread down around the check spring holder.
Firmly draw the thread up from right to left over the
take-up lever, and down into the take-up lever eye.
Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread guide on
the left.
Thread the needle from front to back, or use a needle
threader.

_Hook
(_Guide
Lower the presser foot. Raise the needle to its highest
position. Push down the needle threader knob _ as far
as it will go.
Turn the knob (_0in the direction of the arrow on the
illustration, then insert hook into the needle eye.
The hook _ comes out through the needle eye from
behind. Being very careful of the needle point, draw the
thread around the guide (_ and under the hook _.
Turn the knob in the direction of the arrow on the
illustration, drawing the thread loop through the needle.
Pull the thread through the needle eye.
NOTE:
The needle threader can be used with a #11 to #16
needle, or a #11 Blue needle.
Thread size 50 to 100 is recommended.
