The battery gas can explode.
Do not expose the battery to
ames or sparks. It may cause
a re.
The battery uid contains sul-
furic acid that can burn you.
Do not allow the battery fluid
to contact your eyes, skin, or
painted surfaces. If you acci-
dentally get it in your eyes or
on your skin, ush with water
and contact your doctor.
Be sure to wear eye protection
while working on the battery.
The battery uid can hurt your
eyes.
Use only the battery with the
specied voltage. Otherwise, it
may cause a re.
WARNING
Mishandling the battery shortens the
service life and adds to maintenance
costs. If the battery is insufficiently
charged, the headlights may dim and
the engine is hard to start. It is impor-
tant to inspect the battery periodically.
1. The battery cable should always
be clean and firmly connected.
When installing a new or used bat-
tery, clean its terminals.
2. Check the battery and cable for
damage and corrosion.
3. Apply grease to the terminals and
cable end in order to prevent cor-
rosion.
1. To slow charge the battery, con

nect the battery positive terminal
to the charger positive terminal
and the negative to the negative,
and then recharge in the standard
fashion.
2. Boost charging is only for emer-
gencies. It will partially charge
the battery at a high rate and in a
short time. Failure to do this will
shorten the battery

s service life.
3. When the battery is discharged
and should be replaced, replace it
with a new one with same speci-
cation and capacity.
