1.Whenengineisdif-
cult to start
Fuelisthickanddoesn’tow.
Checkthefueltankandfuellter.
Remove water, dirt and other impurities.
Asallfuelwillbelteredbythelter,ifthereshouldbewater
ofotherforeignmattersonthelter,replacethelter.
Air or water mixed in fuel system.
Ifairisinthefuellterorinjectionlines,thefuelpumpwill
not work properly.
Toattainproperfuelinjectionpressure,checkcarefullyfor
loosened fuel cap nut, etc.
Loosenairventscrewoverfuellterandfuelinjectionpump
to eliminate all the air in the fuel system.
Thickcarbondepositsonoriceofin-
jectionnozzle.
This is caused when water or dirt is mixed in the fuel. Clean
thenozzleinjectionpiece,beingcarefulnottodamagethe
orice.
Check to see if nozzle is working properly or not, if not, in-
stall a new nozzle.
Valve clearance is wrong
Adjustvalveclearance(whentheengineiscold)
- inlet 0.010 in. (0.25 mm)
- exhaust 0.012 in. (0.30 mm)
Engine oil become thick in cold weather
and engine cranks slow.
Change grade of oil according to the weather (temperature).
