Add engine oil. ( p. 87)
16.3Changing the engine oil and oil filter, cleaning the oil screen x
Warning
Danger of scaldingEngine oil and gear oil get very hot when the motorcycle is ridden.
Wear appropriate protective clothing and safety gloves. In case of burns, rinse immediately with lukewarm water.

Environmental hazardHazardous substances cause environmental damage.
Oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaners, brake fluid, etc., should be disposed of as stipulated in applicable regulations.

Drain the engine oil only when the engine is warm.
Preliminary work
Park the motorcycle on a level surface.
Remove the engine guard. ( p. 58)

Main work
Place a suitable container under the engine.
Remove the oil drain plug 1 with the magnet and seal ring.

Do not remove screws A on both sides.

Remove plug 2 with oil screen 3 and the O-rings.

Remove screws 4. Remove the oil filter cover with the O-ring.

Pull oil filter 5 out of the oil filter housing.
Circlip pliers reverse (51012011000)
Completely drain the engine oil.
Thoroughly clean the parts and sealing area.
