6 Maintenance
Regular maintenance of the Shuttle is essential in order for it be completely safe and
reliable in use.
If the Shuttle sampling device is used by multiple users, it is strongly recommended to
agree with one another as to how and when maintenance will be performed.
As a hygienic measure, it is recommend that each user keeps an individual set of milk
delivery tubes, for which they are solely responsible.
6.1 Clean the Shuttle
To avoid pollution and to ensure uncomplicated operation, the Shuttle must be cleaned
after each sampling.
1. Special Tools (see page 6-1).
2. Preparation (see page 6-2).
3. Clean (see page 6-2).
4. Close-up (see page 6-4).
6.1.1 Special Tools
• Bucket with cold water.
• Bucket with warm water.
• Brush.
• Sponge.
• Alkaline cleaning agent, for example soap.
