Toreplacetheeasy-swap-drivemodule,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallexternalmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,
disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedto
theserver.
2.Iftheserverisinstalledinarackcabinet,removetheserverfromtherackcabinetandplaceitonaflat,
clean,andstatic-protectivesurface.SeetheRackInstallationInstructionsthatcomeswiththeserver.If
theserverisintowerformfactor,laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage72.
4.Locatetheeasy-swap-drivemodule.See“Servercomponents”onpage25.
5.Removealltheinstalledeasy-swapharddiskdrivesanddummytrays(ifany)fromthestorage-drive
bays.See“Installingorreplacinganeasy-swapdrive”onpage131.
6.Disconnectthesignalcableandpowercablefromthesystemboard.
7.Pressthereleasetab1andgentlylifttheeasy-swap-drivemoduleslightlyupwardsothatitisreleased
fromthehooksonthechassis.Then,movetheeasy-swap-drivemoduletotherearofthechassis
toremovethemodule.

8.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthenewmoduletoanyunpaintedsurfaceonthe
outsideoftheserver.Then,removethenewmodulefromthepackage.
Note:Carefullyhandlethemodulebyitsedges.
9.Positionthenewmoduleonthehard-disk-drivecagesothattheholesinthenewmodulearealignedwith
thecorrespondinghooksonthechassis.Then,slightlypressthenewmoduleuntilitsnapsintoposition.
10.Reinstallalltheeasy-swapstoragedrivesanddummytrays.See“Installingorreplacinganeasy-swap

11.Reconnectthesignalcableandpowercabletothesystemboard.See“Connectingtheeasy-swap-drive

12.Ifyouareinstructedtoreturntheoldmodule,followallpackaginginstructionsanduseanypackaging
materialsthataresuppliedtoyouforshipping.
