Thesystemboardplatformmanagementsubsystemisbasedonthe
integratedTMMfeatures.TheTMMisamanagementchipthatis
integratedonthesystemboardofyourserver.WiththeTMM,nomatter
whatconditiontheserveroperatingsystemisinandnomatteriftheserver
isonoroff,aslongastheserverisconnectedtonetworkandanacpower
source,theinteractionwiththeTMM-controlledserverscanbeachieved
throughsystemnetwork.Theusercanobtaintheserverhardwarehealth
informationandsystemeventlog(SEL),andisabletoconductthe
operationsincludingturningonorofftheserver,restartingtheserver,and
soon.Thispartofservermanagementisindependentoftheoperating
systemandiscalledout-of-bandmanagement.
Thesystemboardplatformmanagementsubsystemconsistsofthe
integratedTMM,communicationbuses,sensors,theBIOS,andserver
managementfirmware.Thesubsystemisresponsibleforerrorreporting,
systempowercontrol,thermalmonitoring,systemfancontrol,andother
managementfeatures.TheTMMprovidessystemmanagementand
monitoringfeaturesbasedontheIPMI2.0specification.IPMIhelpslower
