Youcaninstallorreplaceaharddiskdriveinthefront-accessstorageenclosure.Theharddiskdrivealso
canbehot-swappable,whichmeansthatyoucaninstallorreplacethedrivewithouteventurningoffyour
computer.
Theharddiskdriveinthefront-accessstorageenclosureishot-swappableonlywhenthefollowing
requirementsaremet:
•TheSATAcableofthefront-accessstorageenclosureisconnectedtotheeSATAconnectoronthesystem
board.Toverifythecableconnection,see“Removingthecomputercover”onpage58and“Partsonthe
systemboard”onpage7formoreinformation.
•Theoperatingsystemofyourcomputerdoesnotresideontheharddiskdriveinstalledinthefront-access
storageenclosure.
Attention:Ifanyoftheaboverequirementsarenotmet,donotinstallorreplacetheharddiskdrivewhen
thecomputeristurnedon.Otherwise,dataontheharddiskdrivemightgetdamaged.
