Step 14: Set up to send and
receive faxes
To receive faxes, your MFP just needs to be plugged in with a phone
line attached. It is automatically configured to receive faxes.
Configuring
fax setup
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 requires all outgoing
faxes to contain specific information in a margin at the top or bottom of
each transmitted page, or on the first page of the transmission. This
required information includes:
Station Name
Station Number
Time and Date
Entering the Station
Name
1 Press the administration button.
2 Choose Default Menus, and then press ).
3 Choose Fax Settings, and then press .
4 Choose Station Name, and then press .
5 Enter the Station Name (a personal name or company name) by
selecting letters and pressing after each letter.
6 When you are finished, choose Submit, and then press . This
returns you to the Fax Settings menu.
Entering the Station
Number
1 Choose Station Number from the Fax Settings menu, and
then press .
2 Enter your fax phone number by selecting numbers and
pressing after each number.
