CHAPTER 2 : MAINTENANCE
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
This maintenance schedule is based on normal
bicycle use. If you ride more than the average cyclist
or if you regularly ride in rain, snow or off-road,
service your bike more regularly than this schedule
suggests. Should a part of the bicycle not work
correctly, check it over immediately and carry out
any maintenance or repair, or consult your retailer. If
the part is damaged or worn, replace it before your
next ride.
It is recommended to service new bicycles after the
rst rides. Cables can stretch with use, for example,
which can impact gear shifting or braking. Take your
bike to your retailer for a full service approximately
two months after purchase.
Even if you do not ride often, it is recommended to
fully service your bicycle once a year.
Tools for bicycle maintenance
Torque wrench with graduation in lb•in or N•m

Not all of these tools are required for all bikes.

Do not clean your electric bike with a high
pressure washer. Electrical systems are sensitive to
moisture. Water could get into the connectors and
other parts of the system. Before every use, ensure
the plugs and interfaces between the battery pack
and motor, as well as between the motor and bottom
bracket, are perfectly dry.
The battery pack must be handled with care; do
not drop it and make sure it does not sustain any
impacts. Improper handling may result in serious
damage or overheating. Before using or charging
the battery, systematically check for damage such
as cracks or burn marks. Never use or charge a
damaged battery. If you suspect the battery may be
damaged, take it to your retailer immediately.
Always refer to the instructions of the manufacturer
for battery pack maintenance. Failure to follow these
instructions could result in battery damage and
require replacement.
Only ever charge the battery with the appropriate
charger, delivered with your LOOK bicycle.
Do not leave the battery pack constantly
connected to the charger, or the charger constantly
plugged into the mains.
If you are not planning on riding for a long period
of time, allow the battery charge level to drop to 60%
(3 LEDs on) before storing. Check the charge status
after 6 months and, if it is 20% (1 LED on) or less,
recharge it up to 60%.
Store the battery pack in a dry and well-ventilated
place. Ideal storage temperature should be between
+5°C and +20°C.
If weather conditions are unfavorable for riding,
remove the motor and battery pack from the electric
bike and store them until the weather gods shine
upon you again.
It is not recommended to leave the battery on the
bike.
WARNING : At the risk of voiding the
warranty, never disassemble or modify the
battery, motor or bottom bracket as this may cause
serious injury and expose you to prosecution if your
interference causes an accident to third parties.
