Cabling, Wiring, and Assembly
Operational Systems Interfaces
NOTE:
The CIT and X.25 interfaces used by the
SLC
-2000 system is defined by
the EIA standard RS232D which recommends cable lengths less than 50
feet for data rates up to 19200 baud. If longer cable lengths are required it
is suggested that the baud rate be reduced.
X.25 (Q3) Interface
Connections at the ARM shelf J45 connector are standard RS232D terminations
(Figure 3-55). Terminate the appropriate cable at the customers cross-connect
point for these communications lines. Refer to the APPLICATIONS section.
TBOS Serial Telemetry
The appropriate cable assemblies shall be connected to J53 of the ARM shelf in
accordance with the associated figure (see Figure 3-54) and OS type as follows:
Refer to the APPLICATIONS sections for details.
ACORN Systems require cable assemblies devoid of built-in resistor terminations
(ED8C724-20 G-348 or 349).
GTP Systems require cable assemblies equipped with built-in 511 ohm resistor
terminations (ED8C724-20 G-395 or 396). Older cable versions utilized the
ACORN cables with an additional adapter cable assembly (G-352) which
contained the resistor terminations.
CIT/Modem
Connections at the ARM shelf J182 connector are standard RS232D terminations
(Figure 3-57), however the mating cable assembly utilizes only 5 leads. Terminate
the appropriate cable at the customers cross-connect point for these
communications lines. Refer to the APPLICATIONS section for all CIT
connections.
