Cabling, Wiring, and Assembly
Customer Interface Cable
Connections
The following sections detail each installer operation necessary to interconnect
the Customer Interface Cables. For ease of installation and to alleviate cable duct
congestion these procedures should be followed in the sequence presented.
Details of these procedures are outlined in the respective sections.

Customer’s Power
and Ringing
Connect customer’s DC power and Ringing Supplies tothe Power Interface
Unit.
Miscellaneous
Discrete Alarms
Install Miscellaneous Discrete Alarm Customer Interface Cable (ED7C723-37
Group 16 or 17 or 18).
DS1 Install Optional DS1 Distribution or DS1 Feeder Cables (ED7C723-37 Group
1 or 2 or 3).
VF Install VF Customer Interface Cable (ED7C723-37 Groups 4 to 9).
E&M Install E&M Customer Interface Cables (ED7C723-37 Groups 10 to 15).
Alarms and
Telemetry
Connect CO alarms to TS1 block. Install Telemetry Customer Interface Cable
(ED7C723-37 Group 19 or 20 or 21).
PGTC Install PGTC Customer Interface cable (ED7C723-36 Group 5) and connect
to PGTC connector or multiple to other
SLC -2000 or SLC Series 5 bays.
MDF Bypass Install MDF Bypass Pairs Customer Interface Cable (ED7C723-37 Group 16
or 17 or 18).
Synchronization Connect customer's Composite Clock cables to ATU.
Install DS1 SONET synchronization cables (ED8C724-20 Groups 339-341,
374) or (ED7C723-37, Group 27, 28, or 29).
OS Interface I
nstall X.25 cable (ED8C724-20 Group 342 or 343); TBOS cable
(ED8C724-20 Group 348, 349, or 395, 396); and CIT/Modem RS232
cable (ED8C724-20 Group 350).
Fiber Install fiber optic cables to the ARM shelf.
