Thepurposeoftheparkingaidistoassistthe
driverinreversing!Thesensorsmaynotbe
abletodetectobstaclesofcertaintype,e.g.
narrowpostsorsmallobjectsnomorethan
afewincheswide,smallobjectsclosetothe
ground,objectsabovethetailgateandsome
objectswithnon-reectivesurfaces.
Keepthesensorsfreefromdirt,iceandsnow.
Ifdepositsbuilduponthesurfaceofthe
sensors,theirperformancemaybeimpaired.
Whenwashingthecar,avoidaiminghigh
pressurewaterjetsdirectlyatthesensors
fromcloserange.
RearParkingAid
Theultrasonicsensorsintherearbumpermonitorthearea
behindthevehicletosearchforobstacles.Ifanyobstacle
isdetected,thesystemwillcalculateitsdistancefromthe
rearofthevehicleandcommunicatesthemessagetothe
driverbysoundingwarningchimes.
ParkingAidinOperation
Whenthestart/stopswitchisintheON/READYposition,
therearparkingaidisenabledautomaticallywhenreverse
isselected,itisswitchedoffassoonasreverseis
disengaged.Ashortbeepisgivenbytheparkingaidwithin
1secondafterselectingreversetoindicatethatthesystem
isoperatingnormally.
Theentertainmentsystemscreenwilldisplayasilhouette
imageofthecarshowingtheobjectdistancevaluesforthe
sensor.
Note:Ifalonger,higherpitchedsoundisemittedfor3
secondswhenreverseisselectedthisindicatesafault
inthesystem.Inthiscaseseekassistancefromyour
MGAuthorisedRepairer.
