TheassistanttechnologyusedintheMG
pilotsystemcannotreplacethedriver’s
judgmentontheroadandtrafcconditions.
Thesystemcanprovideassistanceforthe
driverbutcannotreplacethedriverindriving.
WhenchoosingtousetheMGpilotsystem,
duetothelimitationsofsystemdetection
andcontrol,thedrivermustalwaysbe
careful.Failuretomaintainoverallcontrol
ofthevehiclemayresultinanaccidentor
personalinjury.
TheMGpilotsystemisadriverassistance
function,it’snotautopilot.Therearemany
situationswherethefunctionisrestrictedor
exits.Thedriverneedstoholdthesteering
wheelatalltimesandcorrectortakeover
thesteeringwheelcontrolifnecessary.
TheMGpilotsystemneedstobeusedinconjunctionwith
theadaptivecruisecontrolsystem.TheMGpilotsystem
worksonthebasisoftheadaptivecruisecontrolsystem.
Ifthelanelinesaheadonbothsidesareclear,thesystem
canassistthevehicleindrivingwithinthelanelines.When
drivingataspeedlowerthan37mph(60km/h),ifthereisa
vehicleaheadandthelanelinesaheadonbothsidesaren’t
clear,thesystemalsocanassistthevehicleinfollowingthe
trackofthevehicleahead.
Note:Thedrivershouldadjustthevehiclespeedand
thefollowingdistanceaccordingtotheroadvisibility,
weatherandroadconditions.TheMGpilotsystem
doesnotrespondtopedestrians,animals,stationary
vehiclesandvehiclesthatdriveacrossthelaneor
oncomingvehiclesinthesamelane.IftheMGpilot
systemcannotreducethevehiclespeedadequately,
thedriverMUSTapplythebrakes.Incongested
conditions,shouldanothervehiclecutintothelane
beingusedbythevehicleunderMGpilotcontrol,the
systemmaynotdetectthevehicleinadequatetime
tomakeabrakingmanoeuvre.Inthiscasethebrakes
shouldbeappliedbythedriver.
Intheabsenceofasteeringinputfromthedriverforsome
seconds,anacousticwarningisprovided,theinstrument
