Smartmainbeamsystemservesonlyasan
auxiliaryfunction.Thedriverstillneeds
tocheckthestatusofthefrontlampsand
operatethemaccordinglywhennecessary.
Forexample:Themainbeammaynotbe
turnedoffautomaticallyinthefollowing
cases,thusthemanualswitchingbetween
themainbeamanddippedbeamisrequired:
•Thewindscreenisdirty,brokenor
obstructedbyotherobjectsblockingthe
viewofthesensor.
•Thelampsofothervehiclesaremissing,
damaged,obscuredorpartiallyobscured
sothatyourvehicleisunabledetect
anothervehicle.
•Thelampsofothervehiclesareobscured
orpartiallyobscuredbysmoke,fog,snow,
watersprayoranyotherconditionsthat
effectvisibility.
•Whenpedestrians,non-motorvehicles
andotherobjectsthatemitorreectno
lightareencountered.
•Whentheheadlampsandtaillampsof
othervehiclescannotbedetecteddueto
thesensorviewisimpaireddueundulating
roadconditionssuchasbends,dipsorhills.
•Iftheangleofthesensorisoutof
toleranceduetothecarpitchanglebeing
excessivewhencarryingheavyloads.
Inanyofthecasesmentionedabove(butnot
limitedto)thesmartmainbeamoperation
mayrequireswitchingoff.
Thesmartmainbeamsystemusesthefrontviewcamera
todetectthelightintensityofthevehicleahead.Themain
beamlampscanbeswitchedonoroffautomaticallyby
thesystemwhenthesurroundingsaredarkandnolight
detected.
T oenablethesmartmainbeamsystem,thefollowing
conditionsshouldbemet:
1Themasterlightingswitchmustbeinthe'Auto'
positionandthedippedbeamlampsswitchedonvia
automaticcontrol.
