line. The throttling valve can be a gate
valve or a ball valve.
h. With the throttling valve installed, fully
close the valve and then engage the
pump motor. Slowly open the throttling
valve and monitor the motor amps as
displayed on the amp meter until the
actual motor amps equal the listed full
load amp rating of the motor. The process
ow is now correctly adjusted. The valve
should remain in this position during
operation.
6. LOW PROCESS FLOW: The minimum
recommended process ow rate is 10 GPM.
Process restrictions may limit the ow to less than
10 GPM. We recommend the addition of bypass
lines to raise the ow rate to 10 GPM. The best place to add bypass lines are on
the extra ports on the molding machine manifold. If extra ports are not available,
add a tee in the To Process and From Process lines, install a bypass line
between the two tees with a throttling valve. Adjust the valve for a minimum of 10
GPM.
