8-8. Inspecting And Cleaning Optional Spark Arrestor Muffler

! Stop engine and let cool.
1 Spark Arrestor Muffler
2 Cleanout Plug
Remove plug and remove any dirt
covering cleanout hole.
3 Exhaust Pipe
Start engine and run at idle speed to
blow out cleanout hole. If nothing
blows out of hole, briefly cover end
of exhaust pipe with fireproof
material.
! Stop engine and let cool.
Reinstall cleanout plug.
Tools Needed:

! Stop engine and let cool.
4 Radiator Cap Cover
5 Radiator Draincock
6 Coolant Recovery Tank
Change coolant according to engine
manual. Add coolant according to engine
maintenance label.
Check coolant level in recovery tank
daily. If necessary, add coolant to recov-
ery tank until coolant level is between
Cold Full and Hot Full levels. If recovery
tank coolant level was low, also check
coolant level in radiator. Add coolant if
level is below bottom of radiator filler
neck.
