Brine Pressure Boost System Installation (Optional)
The brine boost system ensures that sufficient brine pressure is supplied to the OSG to
maintain optimal cell amperage and is required on all RIO Series OSG installations. A brine
pressure boost system includes a centrifugal booster pump and pressure relief valve/back
pressure valve (Figure 18). A separate electrical circuit is required for the brine boost
system. The brine boost pump should be mounted as low as possible in relation to the brine
generator to ensure a flooded suction.

Oxidant Storage Tank Installation

be read before installation of oxidant storage tanks begins. ANY
DEVIATION FROM THESE SPECIFICATIONS MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE
TO PERSON OR PROPERTY.
The oxidant storage tank is designed to act as a holding tank for the oxidant solution and
consists of the tank, drop tube assembly, vents, outlet valve assembly, and safety placards.
A level switch or pressure transducer is also included depending on the tank’s capacity.
Ventilation Requirements
MIOX oxidant tanks require a drop tube and two vents, a Liquid Barrier System (LBS)
hydrogen vent and Oxidant Tank hydrogen vent (Figure 19). A drop tube assembly and LBS
vent assembly are shipped with the oxidant tank. The user is responsible for supplying CPVC
piping to attach to the top of the LBS vent tee and for the Oxidant Tank Vent. Vents must be
installed with a minimum drain slope of 0.5 in. per foot (1.3 cm per meter), sloping
downward from the main vent towards the tank. If the oxidant tank is not supplied by MIOX,
a drop tube assembly and LBS vent assembly must be fabricated on-site.
