Start the engineering tool and create a project.

27.4 Connecting a Personal Computer and a CPU
Module
Connect the personal computer on which the engineering tool has been installed and a CPU module.
Connection procedure
The following describes the procedure for directly connecting a CPU module and the personal computer.
When connecting the personal computer and the CPU module with a USB cable for the first time, install a USB driver. (

1. Select the Process CPU to be used for "Type". Select
"Redundant" for "Mode". Select a programming language to be
used for "Programming Language" and click the [OK] button.
1. Connect a CPU module to the personal computer with a USB
cable or an Ethernet cable. The CPU module connected with a
USB cable or an Ethernet cable becomes own system.
2. Select [Online] [Current Connection Destination] from the
menu of the engineering tool.
3. Click the [CPU Module Direct Coupled Setting] button on the
"Specify Connection Destination Connection" window.
4. Select a method of connection with the CPU module and click the
[Yes] button.
5. Set "Specify Redundant CPU" to "Not Specified" on the "Specify
Connection Destination Connection" window and click the
[Connection Test] button to check that the personal computer has
been connected with the CPU module.
