Filling up with fuel
Before removing the tank cap,
switch off the engine and leave
to cool down.
Fill up the fuel tank outdoors or
in a well ventilated room.
Do not fill the fuel tank to the
upper edge.
Keep fuel away from sparks,
naked flames, continuous flames,
heat sources and other ignition
sources.
Regularly check fuel lines, tank,
tank cap and connections for
defects and leaks and, if required,
replace.
Starting the engine
Check that the spark plug and air
filter have been fitted correctly.
Do not start the engine if the spark
plug has been removed.
Leave spilt fuel to evaporate
before starting the engine.
Start the flooded engine with the
choke in the “Off” position and the
throttle in the “Fast” position until it
switches on.
Operating the unit
Do not tilt the engine and unit
at an angle at which the fuel can
run out.
Never stop the engine with the
choke.
Transporting the unit
Before transporting the unit,
empty the fuel tank or turn off the
petrol tap (optional).
Storing fuel or units with fuel in
the tank
Never store near an oven, cooker,
water heater or similar appliances
which have a continuous flame or
ignition source.

Never start the engine near
leaking gas lines.
Do not use pressurised starting
liquids.

Start and run the engine outdoors
only.
Do not start or run the engine in
closed rooms.

Leave engine and engine
components to cool down before
touching them.
Remove flammable foreign
objects from the engine and
engine components.

Before working on the engine
Remove the spark plug terminal
from the spark plug.
Disconnect the cable from the
negative battery terminal.
Checking for sparks
Use a suitable spark tester.
Without removing the spark plug,
check whether there is an ignition
spark.

The unit’s protective devices must
be fitted.
Keep body parts away from
rotating parts.
Cover hair and remove jewellery.
Do not wear clothing which could
become caught in the rotating
parts.
Waste disposal and
the environment

Remove spilt oil immediately.
Clean the affected floor areas.
Do not throw waste oil, oily rags
and parts into the household
refuse.
Waste oil may be disposed of at
authorised centres only.
Please inquire at your local authority
or ask your dealer about means of
disposal of waste oil.
