Introduction to advanced functions
This product includes the following scan functions.
Advanced function list
Select address
Press this button to specify a destination. For details, see “Basic scanning” (page 1-2).
Resolution
You can set the resolution for scanning (page 1-12).
Color
You can set whether to scan the document in color or monochrome (page 1-12).
Document type
Set the document type to scan with according to the document (page 2-4).
Contrast
Set the contrast to scan with according to the document (page 2-5).
Scan size
You can transmit or save an image scanned using a scan size set in advance. This is
useful when you want to scan a part of the document or to specify the document size (page
2-6).
Next document setting (Next Doc.)
You can transmit or save separate documents scanned in a row as a single set of data.
Since you can scan using both the document glass and the automatic document feeder,
this is useful for transmitting / saving a combination of documents such as an invoice and
a map together (page 2-7).
Broadcast
You can transmit to multiple destinations with a single operation. You do not need to
scan the document repeatedly for each individual destination (page 2-9).
File format
You can select the file format (TIFF, PDF, etc) for sending (page 2-11).
File name
You can edit the file name for the scanned image data. You can also enter the file name
using a file name registered in advance (page 2-12).
Speed-dial
For details, see chapter 5 “Using speed dial numbers” (page 5-4).
Mail address
For details, see chapter 5 “Entering e-mail addresses” (page 5-6).
