stateforthecursorafterpowerup.Adisabledcursordoesnot
overwriteadisplayedcharacter.
Set Screen Save Blank
Format: 1B 09
Description: Thiscommandisintendedtopreservethelifeofthedisplayhardware
unit.Thefirmwaremaintainsafiveminutetimerthattriggersthis
feature.TheScreenSavefeaturecanbedisabledthroughacommand
fromthehostsoftware.Whenthefeatureisnotdisabled,twospecific
optionsexist.The
SetScreenSaveBlankoperationcausesthedisplayto
goblankwhenthetimerexpires.Whenthefirmwarereceivesthe
commandcode,theScreenSavemodeiscanceledandthefiveminute
timerisestablished.ScreenSave BlankremovespowerfromtheRetail
VFDanddoesnotrefreshthedisplay
inthesamemannerastheSet
LowPowerOncommand.Atpowerup,thetimerisestablishedatfive
minutesandScreenSaveBlankisestablishedasadefault.Thefive
minutetimerisnotresetbyanyinvalidorincorrectcommand.
Set Screen Save Walk
Format: 1B 0A
Description: Thiscommandcausesthevisibledisplaytowalkrighttoleftwhenthe
ScreenSavetimerexpires(fiveminutes).Thecharactersonthedisplay
willappeartowalkacrossthecorrespondingdisplayrowfromrightto
left.Thefourlinesinthe4x20Displaywillwalkinparallelcompletely
offtheleftsideofthedisplayandthenthefourlineswillappearto
comebackfromtheright.Ifthedisplayisspacefilled,thennoeffectis
perceivedeventhoughthewalkingistakingplace.TheScreenSave
Blankmodeisthedefaultmodeafterpowerup.
