Draining or Purging the Melter (contd)
1. Make sure all the following preconditions are met:
S Wear safety gloves and body protection.
S Have a pan to collect the adhesive.
S The melter must be at Temperature Ready.
S The Master Pump Control must be On.
S For non-electronic pressure adjust systems, you must manually lower
the hydraulic pressure BEFORE draining.
2. Select Drain and press the
on the Navigation pad to toggle Drain to
Enable. Using a flat head screw driver, turn the screw slowly
counterclockwise, allowing for the adhesive to drain. When done, turn the
screw clockwise to close the valve.
NOTE: you can manually activate each applicator solenoid to drain adhesive
from the hoses. Make sure to wear safety gloves and have a pan to collect
the adhesive.
3. Press
to return to the Home screen, or press < to return to the
Tools menu.
NOTES:
S To remove adhesive from the hoses, you must manually activate the
applicator solenoid. Make sure to wear safety gloves and have a pan to
collect the adhesive.
S If you have a fill system and if the master Fill was switched On, then it is
automatically disabled while Drain is active. You must use the Fill Master
Control to switch it back On.
