18 Pump extraction
The pump is designed for easy extraction from LEO. It has to be replaced when its lifetime reaches the
1000 hours of operation. As a first step, disconnect CO2-O2-MODULE. Follow the instructions below to extract
CO2-O2-MODULE:
1 Loosen the screw by using a hexagonal key (2.5mm), as shown in Figure 115, a. Then lift up and remove the
rear cover of LEO (see Figure 115, b).
2 Loosen the screws (1 in Figure 115, c and 2 in Figure 115, d) by using a hexagonal key (1.5 mm).
3 Disconnect inlet (see Figure 115, e) and outlet tube (see Figure 115, f) from the CO2-O2-MODULE. Then lift
up and remove the CO2-O2-MODULE.

Follow the instructions below to replace the pump:
1 Loosen the screw (as shown in Figure 116, a) by using a hexagonal key (1.5 mm) and lift up the pump cover
(see Figure 116, b).
2 Disconnect inlet and outlet tube from the pump (see Figure 116, c).
