Obtain the OpenBoot Prompt (Oracle Solaris)

Run diagnostics. Refer to detecting and managing faults in the service manual for the
server.
Reset and power off the host.
At the OpenBoot prompt, type help reset to display details about the
reset command.
Eject media.
At the OpenBoot prompt, type help eject to display details about the
eject command.

Use this procedure when you want to shut down the OS and reach the ok prompt.
1.
Log in to Oracle Solaris as a user with root privileges.
2.
Shut down the OS.
# shutdown -g0 -i0 -y
Shutdown started. Wed Sep 19 15:17:45 PDT 2012
Changing to init state 0 - please wait
Broadcast Message from root (console) on systemA.com Wed Sep 19 15:17:45...
THE SYSTEM systemA.com IS BEING SHUT DOWN NOW ! ! !
Log off now or risk your files being damaged
root@systemA:~# svc.startd: The system is coming down. Please wait.
