Chapter 5 Internet Fax
Sending an Email Procedure
The basic operation to send scanned originals as an Email is as follows.
z Check that the other party has Internet Fax capability before using this function.
z Email addresses and Fax stations can be mixed while entering the destinations.
Email would be transmitted to an Email address destination, while normal fax documents would be transmitted
to a fax destination.

Place original(s).
z Refer to Placing Originals (see page 14).

Press the Fax key to open the Fax
screen.
Select “Basic Menu” if additional
settings are required.
z Setting Original Quality (see page 34)
z Setting a File Type and a File Name (see
page 128)
The PDF format can be used only for
transmitting Email to remote computers.
Send Email in the TIFF format to an Internet
Fax.
z Setting Message Delivery Notice (MDN)
(see page 132)
Select “More Menus” if additional
settings are required.
z Deferred Transmission (see page 60)
z Emailing a Ledger-Sized Document (see
page 130)
z Relayed Transmission from Internet Fax
(see page 158)
Face up. Up to 100 sheets
(20 lb/Letter)
Face down. Align with top left
corner. Close ADF.
