6. Stabiliser, Zoom and Flash
The available flash range (approximation)
The edges of flash pictures taken without using the zoom at short distances (close to the
wide end) may appear dark. This may be alleviated by zooming in a little further.
This is the range when [ISO Limit Set] (P205) is set to [OFF].
Wide Tele
[AUTO] in
[Sensitivity]
0.5 m (1.6 feet) to 13.2 m (43 feet) 1.0 m (3.3 feet) to 7.9 m (26 feet)
Do not bring the flash too close to objects or close the flash while it is activated. The objects
may be discoloured by its heat or lighting.
Do not close the flash soon after the flash is activated prior to taking pictures due to Forced
ON/Red-Eye Reduction etc. It causes a malfunction.
It may take time to charge the flash if you repeatedly take pictures. You must wait a moment to
take the next picture while the flash icon is blinking red indicating the flash is charging.
When you attach an external flash, it takes priority over the built-in flash. Refer to P312 for the
external flash.
