This chapter contains a troubleshooting section that can help you solve common
problems that you might encounter when using the Book PC. Read this information
carefully as it might help you on your way. If you encounter a problem that you cannot
solve, contact your vendor for assistance.
Q & A
The computer doesn’t work.
Make sure the power cord is firmly plugged into the wall outlet and the rear side of the
computer.
Next check that the wall outlet is working properly.
The keyboard doesn’t work.
Make sure that the keyboard is firmly and securely connected to the proper connector on
the rear side of your computer. Do not plug it into the designated PS/2 port for the
pointing device.
The Mouse doesn’t work.
Make sure that the mouse is firmly and securely connected to the proper connector on
the rear side of your computer. Do not plug it into the designated PS/2 port for the
keyboard.
Next check to see if the mouse needs cleaning.
The CD-ROM/DVD drive does not operate properly.
Open the tray and take the CD-ROM/DVD disk out. Check to see if the disk is properly
place in the tray, most of the times this means putting the disk in with the printed side up.
Next check to see if the disk is dirty or defected. Try again with another disk.
The audio doesn’t work.
Make sure that the speakers are properly connected to the Line Out connector (or to the
Line In connector if four channel speaker mode is enabled).
Check the volume settings of your system. Click on the speaker icon located on the
Windows taskbar, and make sure sound is not muted. Turn up the volume.
