This chapter allows you to become familiar with the basic parts of your system and tells
you how to set up your Book PC.
Introduction
The key features of this Book PC include:
The Book PC uses the Intel 810 chipset.
Supports PPGA Celeron, FCPGA Pentium III processors, from 300 up to 800 MHz.
Supports maximum installed memory up to 512 MB.
Support for Bus mastering and UltraDMA 33 modes.
Support for Green PC standard, keyboard power on/off, and Wake on
Modem/LAN/Alarm.
Built-in Graphics System supports up to 1600 x 1200 resolution in 8-bit color at 85Hz-
refresh rate. Provides TV encoder for NTSC, PAL and SCART (for Europe only) TV
support (AV/S-Video).
Built-in Sound System meets PC98 audio specification.

interface, and support for Four Channel Speakers.
2. Prevides Digital Audio Interface (SPDIF In/Out) with 24-bit stereo, 44KHz

end audio systems.
Provides a floppy disk drive, a hard disk drive, and a CD-ROM or DVD drive.
Built-in 10/100Base LAN adapter and 56K V.90 fax/modem.
Built-in Trend’s Chip Away Virus ensures that the boot process is protected from
viruses. The bundled PC-Cillin software provides automatic virus protection under
Windows 95/98.
The Book PC is bundled with the SuperVoice for fax/modem communications,
MediaRing Talk for PC to PC internet phone communication, Gamut for professional
audio management, including MP3 encoding and playback, WordPerfect Suite 8, the
renowned office application suite, and optional Windows 98 operation system and
WinDVD application for DVD playback.
