5.2.6 Bag/Ventilator Switch and Spirometer
The multfuncton connector (10) provdes an nterface
between the ventlator and

5.3 Changing CO Absorbent

If the absorbent s to be changed durng clncal use,
adequate fresh gas flow must be mantaned to prevent
excessve buld up of O

Anhydrous soda lme s known to react wth some anaesthetc
agents Do not contnue to use the absorbent f t has been
allowed to dry out (or f you suspect t has dred out) Always
replace dred-out absorbent wth a fresh supply
Removng the canster

1 Swvel the front of the absorber assembly away from the
sde of the anaesthetc machne
2 Turn the lever (2) clockwse to the unlocked poston (3) to
release the canster (1)

arefully lft out the nner absorbent contaner (4) or pre-
pack unt

ondensate may drp from the contaner or pre-pack
Use a cloth to prevent spllage
4 Dlute the lqud n the canster wth water before dsposal
Follow your hosptal procedure
5 Dspose of the pre-pack, or the absorbent from the nner
contaner (4) n complance wth your local dsposal
procedures
5.3.1 Cleaning
Soda lme tends to adhere strongly to surfaces when t has
become exhausted
1 To mantan good sealng, wpe the canster (1), absorbent
contaner (4), seal (5), and the sealng plate (6) above the
canster
2 Remove all partcles of soda lme, whenever the absorbent
s changed
