Maintenance
7.3 Condensate Drainage
These operatons must be carred out by sutably traned
techncans only
WARNIN
ondensaton, whch may collect n the bottom of the absorber
canster s caustc and care must be taken not to spll t on the
skn when dranng Wear sutable protectve gloves
Dlute the lqud wth water before dsposal
Daly Procedure
1 heck the level of lqud n the canster (1) and carry out
the followng procedure f dranage s requred
2 Swvel the front of the absorber assembly away from the
sde of the anaesthetc machne
3 Turn the lever (2) clockwse to the unlocked poston (3) to
release the canster (1)
4 Remove the canster and carefully lft out the nner
absorbent contaner (4) or pre-pack unt
WARNIN
ondensate may drp from the contaner or pre-pack
Use a cloth to prevent spllage
5 Dlute the lqud n the canster wth water before dsposal
Follow your hosptal procedure
6 Reft the contaner or pre-pack
Pre-packed soda lme
heck that the three spacers (5) are n place
heck that the carrer (6) s n place
Insert the pre-pack nto the carrer n the canster
Bulk packed (loose) soda lme
heck that the three spacers (5) are n place, and place the
contaner n the canster
7 Reft the absorbent canster
WARNIN
The canster seals at the top face Mantan the poston
of the rm of the canster over the outer lp of the seal (7)
as you rotate the lever (2) ant-clockwse to the vertcal,
locked-on poston
Falure to lock the canster n the fully closed poston,
may cause a system leak and/or a reducton n O
absorpton
Lft the canster upwards (8) and poston the rm of the
canster over the outer lp of the seal (7)
Hold the canster n place, check that there s no lateral
movement
Turn the lever (2) ant-clockwse to the vertcal poston to
lock the canster n place 
8 Leak test the absorber – see secton 62
