8.4 Absorber Assembly - Procedure Before
Sterilisation
AUTION
Removal and refttng must only be carred out by qualfed
servce personnel When the absorber s lfted or carred by
hand, always support the weght of the unt under the base
Do not lft the absorber by grppng any of the components
attached to the manfold block
AUTION
Do NOT clean any component n an automatc cleanng/
washng machne
8.4.1 Absorber Canister
WARNIN
ondensaton, whch may collect n the bottom of the
absorber canster, s caustc Avod skn contact when
dranng
Removng the canster (1)
1 Swvel the front of the absorber assembly away from the
sde of the anaesthetc machne
2 Turn the lever (2) clockwse to the unlocked poston (3) to
release the canster (1)
3 Remove the canster and carefully lft out the nner
absorbent contaner (4) or pre-pack unt
WARNIN
ondensate may drp from the contaner or pre-pack
Use a cloth to prevent spllage
4 Dlute the lqud n the canster wth water before dsposal
Follow your hosptal procedure
5 Dspose of the pre-pack, or the absorbent from the nner
contaner (4) n complance wth your local dsposal
procedures
8.4.2 Manometer, Oxygen Sensor, APL Valve
1 Remove the manometer (1)
Do not autoclave
2 Remove the oxygen sensor (2)
Dsconnect the cable, and unscrew the sensor from the
sde of the absorber
Do not autoclave
3 Adustable pressure lmtng (APL) valve (3)
a) Autoclave as part of the absorber assembly
b) The valve must be n the open poston before
autoclavng
