Installation and Operation
5.3.2 Refilling with absorbent
NOTE
Recommended absorbent See secton 451
5321 Pre-packed soda lme
1 heck that the three spacers (7) are n place
2 heck that the carrer (8) s n place
3 heck the manufacturer’s nstructons ncluded wth the
pre-pack
4 Remove the packagng and nsert the new pre-pack nto
the carrer n the canster
5.3.2.2 Bulk packed (loose) soda lime:

Underfllng can lead to neffcent O absorbton
1 Overfllng may result n poor sealng of the canster, due to
cakng of granules and abrason of the canster seal
2 heck that the contaner (4) s clean and dry and empty of
dust or soda lme granules
3 Place the contaner on a horzontal surface and fll t wth
soda lme up to a level 25 mm (1 nch) below the top
4 Do not fll above ths level
5 heck that the three spacers (7) are ftted, and place the
contaner n the canster
5.3.3 Refitting the canister
WARNIN
The canster seals at the top face
Mantan the poston of the rm of the canster over the outer
lp of the seal (5) as you rotate the lever ant-clockwse to the
vertcal, locked-on poston
Falure to lock the canster n the fully closed poston, may
cause a system leak and/or a reducton n O absorpton
1 Reft the canster - lft upwards (9) and poston the rm of
the canster over the outer lp of the seal (5)
2 Hold the canster n place, check that there s no lateral
movement
Turn the lever (2) ant-clockwse to the vertcal poston to
lock the canster n place 
3 Leak test the absorber - see secton 62
5.4 Manometer
If the manometer (1) has been removed and reftted, functon
test the absorber, checkng for leaks at the manometer, before
clncal use
AUTION
Remove the manometer before autoclavng the absorber
manfold block - see secton 85
