7. Setting the differential feed dog
Requirement:
With the maximum gathering setting and the stitch length at “3”, the differential feed dog 11 must be
0.5 mm from the needle plate (figure 13).
Check:
● Set the stitch-length adjustment knob to “3”.
● Push down the adjustment lever for the differential feed dog as far as it will go.
● Turn the handwheel in the normal direction until the main feed dog and the differential
feed dog are flush with the needle plate.
● Check the distance to the needle plate.
Setting:
● Loosen the fastening screw 12 (figure 14).
● Move the differential feed dog until it is 0.5 mm from the needle plate (figure 13).
● Tighten the fastening screw 12 (figure 14).
