17. Setting the timing of the upper overedge looper
Requirement:
When the two loopers overlap as shown in figure 32 the clearance between the point of the upper looper
16 and the head of the lower looper 4 must be between 0.05 and 0.1 mm.
Check:
● Turn the handwheel in the normal direction until the upper looper 16, in its upward movement,
is behind the lower looper 4.
● Check that the clearance between the point of the upper looper 16 and the head
of the lower looper 4 is between 0.05 and 0.1 mm.
Setting:
● Turn the handwheel in the normal direction until the upper looper 16, in its upward movement,
is behind the lower looper.
● Loosen the screws 14 on the drive eccentric 4 (figure 31).
● Rotate the drive eccentric until the clearance between the point of the upper looper
16 and the head of the lower looper 4 is between 0.05 and 0.1 mm (figure 32).
● Tighten the screws 14 of the drive eccentric (figure 31).
