18. Setting the clearance between the upper and lower overedge loopers
Requirement:
When the two loopers overlap (figure 33), the clearance between the point of the upper looper 16 and
the back of the lower looper 4 must be between 0.05 and 0.1 mm.
Check:
● Turn the handwheel in the normal direction until the upper looper 16, in its upward movement,
is behind the lower looper 4.
● Check that the clearance between the point of the upper looper 16 and the back of the lower
looper 4 is between 0.05 and 0.1 mm.
Setting:
● Turn the handwheel in the normal direction until the upper looper 16, in its upward movement,
is behind the lower looper 4.
● Slightly loosen the screw 15.
● Pull the upper looper 16 forwards until the clearance between the point of the upper looper
and the back of the lower looper is between 0.05 and 0.1 mm.
● Tighten the screw 15.
