19. Setting the height of the two thread chainstitch looper
Requirement:
The vertical clearance between the looper point and the looper drive shaft must be 65.8 mm (figure 34)
Check:
● Turn the handwheel in the normal direction until the looper point 16 is at its right point of reversal.
● The vertical clearance between the looper point and the looper drive shaft must be 65.8 mm
in this position.
● Loosen and remove the screw 17 and remove the looper thread guide.
● Mount the adjustment guage No. 93-415 503-21/555 and check the clearance.
Setting:
● Turn the handwheel in the normal direction until the looper point 16 is at its right point of reversal.
● Loosen the screw 18 on the two thread chainstitch looper.
● Move the looper 16 until the clearance between the two thread chainstitch looper and the looper
drive shaft is 65.8 mm.
● Tighten the screw 18 on the two thread chainstitch looper.
Test:
● As described under “Requirement”.
