Maintenance and trouble shooting
Check the condition of the air filters at the rear of the unit and replace if they appear
dirty. Because the incubators are used in clean environments it is not expected that
the filters will require replacement. Refer to External air filter .
Check that the gas vents at the rear of the incubator are clear.
Replace the internal gas filter.
System test run
Check top line of display correct.
Check bottom line of display correct.
Alarm tests

Battery test
Check the battery backup system. With the incubator running in normal mode,
disconnect the mains supply. Confirm that an alarm occurs and that the unit
continues running for ten minutes under battery backup. After ten minutes, restore the
mains supply. Note that this test does not ensure that the battery can maintain the
incubator for the full specified backup period; see Note below.
Confirm alarm sounded when mains disconnected.
Confirm unit ran for ten minutes under battery backup.
Please Note: The ability of the internal battery to support the incubator will begin to
deteriorate after approximately three years. Testing the battery to determine its full
capacity will result in the battery being discharged. As such the battery will no longer be
able to support the incubator until it has become fully charged again; this can take up to
24 hours. As such running full capacity tests on incubators that are in active use is not
recommended.
Calibration
Calibrate the incubator. This must include temperatures and flow. Refer to Calibration
procedure.
Calibration is performed first as the incubator will normally be running and stable.
Lid Switch Operation

Close Incubator Lids, confirm Incubator reverts to flow at purge rate.
Lid seals
Check both lid seals for any damage replace if necessary refer to Lid seal
Ribbon cables
Check both top heater plate ribbon cables. Check for any sign of damage as well as
any interference with the opening and closing of the hinge mechanism.
