CD-ROM Maker Options
Identifiers:

• ISO 9660: Specifies the created CD-ROM will be in the ISO 9660 format.
• Joliet: Specifies the created CD-ROM will be made using the Joliet standard
(default setting).
• Volume Identifier: Specifies the name that will be given to the ISO 9660
volume.
The characters that can be used in the Volume Identifier are restricted to what
ISO 9660 calls “d-characters,” and the length is restricted to 31 characters.
• System Identifier: Identifies a system that can recognize and act on logical
sectors 0 through 15. While ISO 9660 specifies that this is what the System
Identifier is used for, it does not specify what is in sectors 0 through 15, nor does
it specify how the data is used. The characters that can be used in the System ID
are what ISO 9660 calls “a-characters,” and the length is restricted to 31
characters.
• Volume Set: Specifies the identification of the Volume Set of which this volume
is a member. (d-characters allowed.)
• Publisher: Identifies who provided the actual data contained in the files (a-
characters allowed).
• Data Preparer: Identifies who performed the actual creation of the current
volume (a-characters allowed).
• Application: Identifies the application that specifies how the data in the files are
recorded.
