8. Remove the eleven M6 upper crankcase fasteners

from the top of the motor.
9. Remove the M6 fastener
t
from the bottom of the
motor.
10.Remove the eight M10 fasteners
y
and two M8
fasteners
u
from the bottom of the motor.
11. Gently pry the lower crankcase apart from the engine
and remove.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean the gasket surface of the engine.
2. Clean the gasket surface on the upper crankcase and
apply a thin film of crankcase sealant (PN 2881416.
3. Install the upper crankcase on the engine and align
with the mounting holes.
4. Install eight NEW M10 fasteners
y
and two M8
fasteners
u
from the bottom of the motor and torque
to specification..
TORQUE
Upper Crankcase Fasteners (M8):
26 ft-lbs (35 Nm)
Upper Crankcase Fasteners (M10):
Step 1: 9 ft-lb (12 Nm)
Step 2: 21 ft-lb (28 Nm)
Step 3: Tighten additional 90°
5. Install the M6 fastener
t
from the bottom of the
motor and torque to specification.
TORQUE
Upper Crankcase Fasteners (M6):
7 ft-lbs (10 Nm)
ENGINE / COOLING / EXHAUST
