3. Locate the shift cable

through the right rear wheel
well area.
4. Inspect shift cable

, dust boot

, clevis pin and
pivot bushings

, and mount

. Verify there is no
wear or damage. Replace if wear or damage is found.
5. Loosen the lower jam nut
t
and pull the cable out of
the mount bracket to move the upper jam nut
y
.
6. With the cable removed from the bracket, turn the
upper jam nut
y
to adjust the cable. Moving the
upper jam nut
y
closer to the shift cable boot creates
a larger gap in high. Moving the upper jam nut
y
away from the shift cable boot creates a larger gap in
park.
NOTICE
1 full turn of the adjustment nut
y
equals approximately
1 mm of dash gap.

7. Reinstall the cable in the bracket.
