Check IP Address (Ping)
Use ping to check if the Precidia unit is correctly configured on the network. If you
cannot reach the Precidia unit using Ping, the Precidia unit is either incorrectly config-
ured or there is a network problem.
To “ping” the Precidia unit:
1 Open the MS-DOS Prompt. (Usually found under Start>Programs)
2 At the C:\WINDOWS> prompt type
ping
and the
IP address
you want to check.
- If you get Reply messages, the Precidia unit has a valid connection to the
network.
- If you get a Request timed out message, the Precidia unit is incorrectly config-
ured with the IP address, or you have a network connection problem.
N
OTE
: You can also use ping to check if an IP address is already in use on your
network, before assigning it to a new unit.
